Fort Lauderdale Woman Selected for Country?s First "Golden Pageant"
Naples, FL (ContentDesk) August 4, 2005 -- Elle Nash of Fort Lauderdale has been selected as a representative in the 2006 Ms. Golden America Pageant.
She was chosen from over 700 applicants.
The pageant plans to have approximately 20 women compete from throughout the country for the title on October 29, 2005 at the Harborside Event Center in Fort Myers, Florida.With the purpose of focusing on the beauty and accomplishments of women baby boomers, Ms. Golden America, Inc.
based in Naples, Florida developed this pageant much like the "Miss" pageants people have watched for decades.
Ms. Golden America is for women age fifty and above and unlike its younger counterparts, there is no swimsuit competition. Ms. Nash, age 64, owns "Fit Over Fifty" and is a senior personal trainer.
She has two children and two grandchildren.
Ms. Nash's past experiences include time working on Capital Hill in Washington, DC.
Originally from New York, Ms. Nash held the title of Miss Manhattan in the 60's.
When asked how she feels about entering the pageant, Ms. Nash replied, "By entering this pageant I feel I have come full circle.
Life is so exciting at this age. We can be anything we want. It takes determination, persistence and a little hard work."Contestants will compete in five areas of competition that include tennis wear, commercial appeal, written essay and the traditional evening gown and on-stage question.
Eligibility requirements are United States residency, being at least 50 years of age by October 29, 2005 and of course, being a female.
Women may be single, married, divorced or widowed. Ms. Golden America will win an array of prizes, including a personal appearance contract, a week for two to New Life Hiking Spa in Killington, Vermont and a diamond solitaire necklace.
The pageant will be produced as a one-hour special on the cable satellite network, SkyAngel.

Eminem Named Artist of the Month for March.
Eminem's string of awards and honors continues today as he is named Artist of the Month for March, 2005 by MPFree (www.MPFree.com).
